Our Story
William Nsubuga moved to the United States after the Rwandan Genocide in 1996. In the midst of tragedy, he had a deep desire, never forgotten, to help children with HIV/AIDS and afflicted or destitute children.
William lived in Birmingham Alabama and started a successful construction and home improvement business for ten years. After several visits to Africa, William was moved by the number of Aids orphaned kids and afflicted children in Uganda.

In 2008, William left his business in the U.S. to found Agape Total Child Care in Uganda. Doors opened to the children aged 6-12 years old who lost one or both parents to HIV/AIDs and had no place to live.

William envisioned Agape as a Christian home for those children, a place where they could be safe, feel loved, attend school and receive medical attention when needed. He eventually wanted to open a school for both residents of Agape and local students.

In 2011, with the help of precious partners and friends, Agape moved from a limited space in Lugazi that wasn’t conducive for studying or sleeping to Mukono. There, the first Mission teams from the U.S. began working on facilities for the new childcare center, an administration building, dormitories and a secondary school.
